A Birmingham convoy working with the charity UKIM relief managed to raise over £20,000 cash and collected the following donations:

1 Transit Van
1 strecher for our ambulance
60 bags of new clothes
20 blankets
2 wheel chairs
over £10,000 worth of medical supplies
6 boxes of sweets, books, crayons & pencils

With the money raised 2 ambulances were purchased and 2 transit vans. These were filled with the donated items received and joined the convoy at London.

A total of 12 local drivers ranging from a final year university student, business men to a qualified accountant volunteered to drive our vehicles to Gaza. All of our volunteer drivers with members of our charity UKIM.

Below are a few quotes from the volunteers involved with the above work:

Ramzan Akhtar (Driver of on vehicle on the convoy) a self employed father of 2, - "I have 2 young children of my own and after seeing the suffering of the children in Gaza I felt I had to do something to help. This is not about religion or politics its a humanitarian disaster on a huge scale. I want to do all I can to help"

Kamran Hussain (Driver) a 38 year old qulaified accountant from Hall Green: " Hear the stories of the masacre
and the killings continued We heard the statements of our foreign ministers & prime ministers and still the killings continued . We heard about the conventions, summits & meetings and still the killing continued.
This is a statement to show that the killing must stop"

Shabir Hussain (Head of UKIM relief):
"We are over 4000 miles away and felt that we had to do something to help the helpless people of Gaza. War does not achieve any results. Some many innocent people and the environment become victims. Our charity UKIM relief aims to do all it can to ease the suffering of the many innocent victims of war"
