Dear Volunteers
This is just a courtesy email notifying you that only approved registered Viva Palestina volunteers travelling in approved registered vehicles are permitted to travel on the - Viva Palestina 'Return to Gaza' convoy that departs London on the 6th of December. All Border authorities at each and every border crossing throughout the convoy route will receive prior notification of authorised volunteers and vehicles. Only these volunteers and vehicles will be permitted to cross the border with the Viva Palestina Convoy. Approved VRN numbers along with passport details and vehicle registration information will be presented before hand to make our 3rd return to Gaza convoy a successful and smooth journey.
I am sure you can appreciate that we need to ensure that the convoy is safe and secure on the route to breaking the siege in Gaza.

Drivers Bulletin Board
This bulletin board is for drivers to post up notices for other drivers and volunteers. Insurance suggestion
Most insurance companies are not interested in providing cover for a van for just 1 month and the two or three that do will charge arm-n-leg! However, the following online insurance company seems to be economical. For an LDV 3.5t (2.5ltr Diesel) van, I've got cover for 28 days for just £55. Give it a go. Tip: specify intended usage as "Social, Domestic & Pleasure".

Can any one suggest an insurance company for health insurance that will cover an aid convoy (they all seem to define is as manual labour and won't cover it?) – cover for Turkey , Jordan , Syria and Egypt

Hi, this is Paul from the Isle of Wight "Friends of Palestine" group. We have 2 LDV "high top" vans and four drivers. Two of our drivers do not own vehicles and thus have no personal insurance, a third has own company insurance but this cannot be extended beyond Dover, we are having difficulty with insurance arrangements. Large Roll of Plastic Sheeting in Reading
On offer is a very large roll (6ft in DIAMETER) of heavy duty, waterproof, plastic sheeting that could be put to good use in Gaza (homes, schools, hospital, etc especially during imminent winter months). It is in the Reading area for collection from a warehouse. If too big/heavy, owner has said he can supply other sizes/quantities too!
Anyone with spare capacity likely to pass through Reading (exact location to be confirmed) and willing to collect, please let me know so that I can check and put you in touch directly.

I would love to join Viva Palestina convoy with all my heart. I am a professional HGV driver and I am happy to share my practical experience. I'm Polish so I'm confident in continental driving. I live in Somerset now and I am ready to go from London to Gaza. If anybody needs help in driving I am at your service.

I have heard several Artics are travelling with the convoy - Although I have booked as a driver with a 3-5 tonner, I have held a clean class 1 HGV license ( and Digi card ) for thirty years.
