Messages for the Convoy from around the world

Keep up the good work helping the people of Gaza. Tremendous work!

David Lane

Wow. Your emails have made me so emotional. To enter Gaza seemed impossible, This email in particular brought tears to my eyes.

You guys are my heroes. True heroes, who risked their lives for the good of others. I wish I were there with you all. You guys inspired me some 30,000km away from the suffering of the Gazans.

I hear so much about the suffering, rarely do I hear of the triumphs, today is one of them. Viva Palestina!

Oh how everything I'm doing now feels so irrelevant in contrast to the work Viva Palestina have just accomplished! You all have done a magical and fabulous deed. You are all my heroes!

From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!!!

Kind Regards,

Moustafa Hallani

Dear Alice Howard...

Thank you for all of your breaking news coverage of the Convoy.  Your professionalism is very, very much appreciated and was invaluable in mobilizing activists around the world to support with telephone calls emails, etc.to Gov. agencies.  Thank you for all that you do for justice.

Hi Alice

My name is Shaun Sheridan and I live in Australia.
I am writing to give my support and thanks for the tremendous effort being made by Viva Palestina to get aid to the people of Gaza.

I know that words are not much help but the convoy is in my thoughts and prayers. My sincere hope is that no further aid will be required as Israel and Egypt will finally realize that their actions whereby the men, women and children of Gaza are being systematically terrorized, ethnically cleansed  and harmed are by any standards completely immoral and unacceptable.

Israel and Egypt in their dealings with the people of Gaza and Israel in its treatment of Palestinians generally represent all that my father and his brother fought Nazi Germany to eliminate.

I also believe that peace marches by Gazans may help. If ordinary citizens of Gaza carrying nothing more than placards asking for freedom and food started a march on the Israel boarder with the intention of walking to Jerusalem they could approach the checkpoint and dare the Israeli solders to open fire on women and children just dare them.
The food marches from Jarrow to London by people who were hungry in the 1930's moved the British government to action.

The example of Martin Luther King is another. I/we have a dream.

Unfortunately I can do little more than offer my support but please never, ever, ever, ever, give up.

My name is Shaun Sheridan and I live in Australia with my wife and two young children. I am a human being who does not believe in violence. I am neither pro Palestinian or anti Israeli. I am a person with a conscience who wants justice.

Kind Regards
Shaun Sheridan

Hi Alice,

May I thank you for keeping us here at home virtually hourly updated on the problems put in the path of the convoy, the literally life threatening episodes concocted by the Egyptian authorities in El Arish and latterly at the Rafah crossing. Would you please pass on Harlow Respect's congratulations to Kevin and George and all the convoy members for their courage and determination in carrying through and achieving the objective of breaking the siege to deliver the aid to Gaza. We are all very proud of them.

Jim Rogers,Sec-Harlow Respect.

Hi, I am just reading about the tremendous work Mr Galloway and the rest of the Viva Palestina group are doing, may they have every success, and know that we are all supporting their courage, commitment and humanity, there are no words to thank them enough.

Dr Uma Nath

Hi Alice,

Congratulations and Very Well Done To Everyone involved with the Convoy, They all deserve a medal for their perseverance and courage.

I feel very proud of what they have achieved and that my small contribution may help someone. I've attached an interesting article from the Jerusalem Post. I give a copy of it  to anyone I know that might be interested.

I work with 35 men and 5 women and most of them think I'm a bit mad for supporting an Arab/Muslin cause, but I tell them if they spent half hour reading the facts instead of watching soaps they might learn the other side of the story!!

Again Many Thanks for keeping everyone update with the progress.

I hope they all have a good time tonight and a safe journey back home.

Look forward to your next update.

Dear Alice

Just wanted to send my warmest well wishes to everyone involved in the Viva Palestina convoy and larger project. I was looking at the images of the convoy crossing into Gaza on Al-J and Press TV  tonight and my heart filled with emotion and deep admiration for this fantastic act of international solidarity with the people of Gaza and indeed all the Palestinian people everywhere. So often solidarity work with Palestine seems almost futile in the face of massive odds-but today Viva Palestina showed how the world can break the siege and build global movement of solidarity to free all the Palestinian people..

Yours in solidarity

To the members of the Viva Palestina Convoy,

Congratulations on successfully entering Gaza amidst such difficulties from the Egyptian/Zionist collaborators.  The actions of the despotic Egyptian leadership is disgraceful and your perseverance in overcoming the obstacles that were repeatedly placed in your path is admirable and much appreciated by all supporters of the Palestinian cause.

As South Africans  we are aware of the hardships that have to be endured and sacrifices that have to be made in order to obtain freedom from oppression and occupation.

Your determination will continue to inspire ordinary men and women throughout the world that they, too, can make a difference.

Congratulations once again!

Hi Alice,

Warm Congratulations to all of you, the first trucks are in Gaza – Civil society Activism has triumphed.

All of you are wonderful people, motivated by love.

I have read all emails to date regarding the above convoy.  It really is contemptible the way Egyptian authorities are behaving towards this project.  I would never have thought a state would sink so low, ten years ago, as to attack a humanitarian cause.  But these days, crimes against humanity seem to be on the increase on an international level, with the usual powers that be colluding in all this.  I just hope that enough fight back from ordinary people who care will make a victory with the convoy prevail.  They managed it last year!

best wishes

Just a quick thank you for all your work supporting the convoy folk - really appreciate it ! Worrying times for us here - but surely MUCH worse for convoy team, and EVEN WORSE for the people of Gaza

~ Susan Murphy

Alice have to heard about the riots in Gaza/ One Egyptian policeman killed and 2 Palestinians injured as the Palestinians demonstrated against the wall.

It was live on the TV and not sure if you get that there. Try to watch Al Jazeera English today at some point. There was a big event organised to welcome the VP and some of the Palestinians got so frustrated over the news of the convoy they started to lob stones at the Egyptians. Then there was gunshots, and it was all live on Al Jaz.

Hoping and watching the TV right now waiting for the VP and GG to make their historic entrance into Gaza.

God bless them.

Allison

I am "yasmina" from ALGERIA, we are with you and we praye for you and four all Paletinian, ALLAH is with you in cha AALAH.

Absolutely disgusting Alice,

I have e mailed so many people now, but in a way it is a good thing. It will give you all a lot off publicity and highlight the brutality and complicity of Egypt with Israel.
We need now to really bring into force boycott of their products and George needs to get good lawyers to make sure not one Israeli official steps on British soil and prosecute these utter bastards for war crimes.

I am so mad but will do all I can to e mail this.

God keep you safe.

Allison

Assalamu Alikom,

I writing from Gaza, under the tight siege that you see one of its faces now. We all encourage you and highly appreciate your will to make a move toward this unfair siege against us.

Don't fear these obstacles, and keep patient and insist in your fair goals.

Regards
Tarek, Gaza
